Lesson Overview This lesson is to expose students to "Diamonte"
poems with reviewing nouns, adjectives, and verbs, and with creating an
"Experience" poem. This is lesson 5 of 9 which 8 are VTEL. |

Standards Based Goal Students will be introduced to several
different poetry formats and will apply what they learn to create their
own poetry portfolio. |

Student Objectives 1. Students will express at least five past experiences and create an "Experience" poem to share these. 2. Students will apply six nouns, two adjectives, and
six verbs in a "Diamonte" poem. |
||
Prerequisite Skills Students will to know what a participle verb
phrase is. They will also need to have an idea what nouns and adjectives
are. There will need to be an adult room supervisor for students and
someone who knows how to run the VTEL equipment. All involved need to
understand VTEL classroom protocol. |

Welcome, let's take a couple minutes to share
as many verbs as you can within your lab. Then, you will need one person
to share your list. Discuss the need to use strong verbs On a sheet of paper, put your experiences into
a poem format of your choice. No need to put too much consider in the
format, just make it flow. Remember to submit your poem on your extension
activity sheet. With a partner, review what nouns, adjectives, and
verbs are Share within your lab what you discussed as
partners about nouns, adjectives, and verbs Explain a "Diamonte" poem and do one
together with both sites You may work with a partner to create one or two "Diamonte" poem(s). Submit as partners your "Diamonte" poem(s) by next class period. Be ready to share next time we are together. Closure and remember to submit your poems as
your extension activity and to turn in your group work. Click on purple
